MCX BULLION DAILY REPORT
Tuesday, May 5, 2026 | Issue No: Daily
1. Fundamentals for the Day
Key economic data releases and events to watch today:
•7:15 PM IST — Final Service PMI (Global)
•7:30 PM IST — ISM Service PMI (US)
•7:30 PM IST — JOLTS Job Openings (US)
•7:30 PM IST — New Home Sales (US)
•Later Evening — FOMC Member Bowman Speaks
•Strong ISM Services or JOLTS data = Dollar strength = Negative for Gold/Silver
•Weak readings = Dollar weakness = Support for bullion
•Bowman speech: watch for hawkish/dovish tone on interest rate path — market-moving
2. Market Overview & Commentary
•Gold is trapped inside a defined BOX: ₹1,53,000 (top) — ₹1,48,000 (bottom)
•International Gold: Was trading at $4,800 — we predicted a move toward $4,300. Price has crossed the midpoint. Remaining downside still possible.
•Analysis confirms: Price is below the cloud on 4H and Daily — full bearish alignment for Gold
•Silver’s dual nature: 60–70% industrial demand (electronics, solar, EVs) enables it to rally even when Gold is weak
•Gold/Silver ratio is compressing — Silver is catching up to Gold, a classic BUY SILVER signal
•Overall stance: SELL Gold on rallies | BUY Silver on dips — these are today’s high-conviction themes
3. Gold Section (MCX Gold Futures)
Bias & Structure
•Bias: CLEARLY BEARISH — price below cloud on 4H and Daily Ichimoku
•Descending wedge on 4H pressing price lower
•Tenkan (₹1,50,484) and Kijun (₹1,50,521) acting as overhead cap — price cannot sustain above these
•Kumo (cloud) top at ₹1,51,725 — heavy ceiling
•All key Ichimoku levels above current price = sellers in full control
Range for the Day
Day’s Range: ₹1,51,200 – Low Range ₹1,47,500
Box Top ₹1,53,000 – Box Bottom ₹1,48,000
Our Preference — SELL Gold (Primary)
•Our Preference: SELL Gold @ ₹1,50,400 | Backup Sell @ ₹1,50,900 for Target 1: ₹1,48,500 & Target 2: ₹1,47,700 with Stop Loss: Above ₹1,51,200 — only if price sustains above this level
Descending wedge adds confirmation.
Alternative Scenario — BUY Gold (Conditional) @ ₹1,47,700 | Target: ₹1,50,000 | SL: Below ₹1,47,000 — only if sustain
Trading Zone — Intraday
•₹1,49,200 Buy @ 1st stroke with SL 300 points — VALID TILL 5:00 PM ONLY
•This is a scalp setup — not a positional trade. Exit before 5 PM regardless of position.
4. Silver Section (MCX Silver Futures)
Bias & Structure
•Silver structure is the OPPOSITE of Gold — rising lower trendline since March lows
•Gold/Silver ratio compressing = Silver catching up = Buy Silver confirmation
Key Silver Fundamentals (Why Buy on Dip)
•Silver is 60–70% industrial demand — electronics, solar panels, EVs
•Gold is 85% safe-haven/jewellery — very different drivers
•Silver’s all-time high: ₹4,20,048 | March 2026 low: ₹1,99,643 — a 52% correction
•Any pullback to ₹2,10,000–₹2,20,000 is a strong BUY zone on weekly/daily timeframe
•Positional Call: BUY Silver @ ₹2,23,000 | Target: ₹2,84,000 (Ideal Positional Hold)
Range for the Day
Day’s High Range ₹2,55,000 – Low Range ₹2,35,000
Key Support ₹2,43,000 (Kijun) -Key Resistance ₹2,47,667 (4H session Jobbing)
Our Preference — SELL Silver (Short-term) @ ₹2,48,500 | Backup Sell @ ₹2,50,000 for Target: ₹2,43,500 with Stop Loss: ₹2,52,000
Alternative Scenario —
•BUY Silver @ ₹2,35,000 | Target: ₹2,49,000 | SL: Below ₹2,33,000
•Strong buy-on-dip opportunity — ascending wedge support confirms this zone
Trading Zone — Intraday
•Trading Zone: ₹2,43,500 – Buy Silver @ 1st stroke with SL 1,000 points — Intraday scalp
•Breakout trigger: 30M candle close above ₹2,45,000 = momentum buy entry
5. Conclusion
•Gold: SELL on rally to ₹1,50,400–₹1,50,900. The macro and technical picture is bearish. Target ₹1,48,500–₹1,47,700. Do not buy Gold unless ₹1,47,700 holds on closing basis.
•Silver: BUY on dip strategy remains the preferred approach. Short-term sell at ₹2,48,500 possible, but positional longs from ₹2,35,000–₹2,23,000 are the high-conviction trades.
•Key risk events today: ISM Services PMI (7:30 PM) + Bowman speech. These can cause sharp moves — reduce position size 30 minutes before data release.
•Silver vs Gold divergence is the most important theme today — when Silver outperforms Gold, go with Silver momentum.
•Always trail your stop once target 1 is achieved. Do not let a profitable trade turn into a loss.
