DAILY BULLION REPORT — Wednesday, 05 August 2026

Full trading day: 9:00 AM – 11:30 PM IST | Prepared by Tradeline Capital Research Desk

MARKET SNAPSHOT

  • Overall bias: Mildly bullish — gold holding near 5-day highs after soft-dollar bounce.
  • Dollar Index: Weak — printed weakest weekly close since April on soft NFP miss.
  • Bond yields: Drifting lower as Sept hike odds slipped 67%→50%.
  • Risk sentiment: Neutral-to-constructive; metals bid on rate-cut repricing.
  • Geopolitics/events: No high-impact release today; level-trading regime persists.

FUNDAMENTALS

No major economic events scheduled today. Technical price action is expected to dominate. Watch USDINR at 95.33 for bridge impact on MCX pricing.

MARKET BIAS

  • Gold: Bullish (buy-on-dips while above support)
  • Silver: Bullish-to-Neutral (extended near highs, respect resistance)

  • Trigger: sustained rejection at 1,44,100 (COMEX $4,225–4,250 cluster)
  • Target: 1,42,700 then 1,42,000
  • SL: 1,44,650

  • SL: 2,26,200

Trading Zone (jobbing)

  • 1st-stroke buy: 2,19,500 | tight SL 2,18,700
  • 1st-stroke sell: 2,24,600 | tight SL 2,25,300

DESK VIEW

  • Soft NFP (57K vs 110K) and Sept hike odds sliding to 50% keep the dollar heavy — structural tailwind for bullion.
  • Gold faces stiff overhead at COMEX $4,225–4,250, then the 200-DMA at $4,402; upside likely capped intraday without a fresh catalyst.
  • Buy-on-dips remains the preferred stance while price holds above 1,41,300 on MCX Gold.
  • Silver is extended near 5-day highs ($61.1); favour dip entries over chasing, respect the 2,25,000 ceiling.
  • WGC central-bank buying (+41t May) underpins the medium-term floor; near-term expect level-trading, low-conviction range in a quiet-calendar week.

FUNDAMENTALS FOR THE DAY

No tier-1 US data due today. The scheduled week markers include:

  • ISM Services PMI — 19:30 IST: Hot (beat) → dollar firms, pressure bullion, favour Alternative sell. Soft (miss) → reinforces rate-cut narrative, back Primary buy.
  • FOMC Minutes — 23:30 IST (late): Dovish tone → gold pop toward upper range. Hawkish surprise → quick fade; keep jobbing SLs tight into the release.

FORWARD FLAG

  • US CPI (June) — 14 July, 18:00 IST: Next week’s principal event; a hot print could challenge the current soft-dollar leg. Position sizing should stay measured ahead of it.

YESTERDAY — WHAT HAPPENED & WHY

Gold closed the prior session at weekly highs, riding a soft-dollar bounce after the disappointing June NFP repriced Fed expectations lower. Monday’s follow-through was rangebound near 1,47,3xx-equivalent levels as buyers paused below the $4,225–4,250 resistance cluster. Silver mirrored the move, pinned near its 5-day ceiling. Momentum was constructive but lacked a fresh trigger to break higher — classic quiet-month, level-trading behaviour.

TREND FOR THE DAY

Buy-on-dips with a mild upside bias; range-bound between support 1,41,600 and resistance 1,44,100 (Gold) unless a data catalyst breaks it.

TREND FOR THE WEEK

Constructive while the dollar stays soft, but capped below COMEX $4,250 into next week’s CPI — expect grind-higher, not breakout.
